Programme Opportunities

Opportunity 1: The Pathways to Performance Programme

Forte and the RCM have partnered with Inspired Schools, a private-school system with over 80,000 students worldwide, to offer premium lessons with RCM teachers. Students will participate in a package of six one-hour lessons with an RCM teacher. About the Programme:

  • Six one-hour lessons with an RCM teacher.

  • Enrollment for the program is on a rolling basis, and students will be encouraged to continue after their package has been completed.

  • Teachers will be compensated £50 per lesson.

  • Teachers will be employed with Forte as a freelance employee and compensated directly by Forte.

  • All participating teachers must attend a 1.5-hour training and onboarding session provided by RCM and Forte to prepare for the program and learn about teaching on the Forte lesson platform; teachers will receive compensation of £75 for the training. Trainings will be offered periodically.

  • Students will be encouraged to participate in periodic recitals held by Forte and RCM (with teacher approval), attended by participating Pathways to Performance teachers, family, and friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will I get paid to teach through Forte?

On Forte, you will control how much you get paid per hour, starting at the Aspen Music Festival and School minimum of $80 per hour. You have the ability to set separate rates for lessons of differing lengths. For each lesson you give, Forte will charge the student a fee on top of the amount you specify you want to be paid. The total amount (your rate plus Forte’s fee) will be what the student pays for the lesson.

What instruments are available to teach on Forte?

Forte offers a wide variety of instruments, including all Western classical instruments, composition, songwriting, and more – we are always adding new instruments. If your instrument is not listed, please email us at programs@fortelessons.com

Can I teach multiple instruments on Forte?

Yes! Forte allows teachers to teach multiple instruments. You can have one Forte account with separate profiles for each instrument.

What are the technical requirements to teach on Forte?

To use Forte, you only need access to a laptop/desktop computer with the Chrome browser or an iPad with the Safari browser. Forte is completely browser-based, so there are no applications to download.

We would also recommend using a good external microphone and headphones when possible. This will ensure the best audio experience for both you and the student.

How can I best ensure that I will be paired with students on Forte?

To ensure your profile is reaching a large variety of students, we recommend making yourself available to as many genres, age ranges, and ability ranges as possible.

What levels of learners take lessons on Forte? What lesson levels would I be teaching on Forte?

Forte is available to all student ability levels, ages, and aspirations. In your teacher profile, we ask you questions about what types of students you want (age, skill level, etc.). We will only recommend you to students who fit those criteria.
